Schwartz, Jordan Have Big Games in Glendale Win

After starting 2-10, the Glendale Desert Dogs have won four straight games, including a 10-9 win over the Salt River Rafters on Thursday. Mets first base/outfield prospect JT Schwartz has played a key role in the winning streak with homers in two straight games coming into Thursday and two more extra-base hits on the night.

  • 3B Rowdey Jordan 3-for-5, 2B (6), 2 R, .275/.341/.425

The 23-year-old Schwartz now leads the Desert Dogs with his .988 OPS and is second on the team with 11 RBIs. He has struck out only six times in 38 at-bats in the Arizona Fall League.

The versatile Jordan is tied for the league lead with his six doubles.

The 23-year-0ld Hardy has a 4.91 ERA over four appearances, with four strikeouts compared to two walks.

The Desert Dogs are back in action on Friday night at 9:30 p.m. ET against Mesa.

Bonus note: The Dominican Winter League (LIDOM) began on Thursday night. Reigning MVP Ronny Mauricio is not playing to begin the year. No current Mets were in action, though former Mets Hansel Robles, Gabriel Ynoa, Gerson Bautista, and Raúl Valdés all pitched on Opening Day.
