Making his third start of the Arizona Fall League season, Peterson struggled to limit contact as he only generated four swinging strikes across his 58 pitches thrown (6.9% SwStr). He also did not receive much help defensively as both runs that scored were a result of errors to lead off the first and second innings. The command was good though (74.1% strikes) and he would finish the game strong retiring eight of the final nine batters he faced.

Humphreys replaced Peterson in the fifth inning and struggled to find his command as he walked the first two batters he faced with eight of his first nine pitches being out of the strike zone. He would collect himself, thanks to a little help from Ali Sanchez who threw out an attempted base stealer and got out of the inning unscathed. He would allow a run to score in the sixth inning but finished the night by retiring the final five batters he faced.

For the first time this season, Ryley Gilliam allowed a run on his own accord as he allowed back to back extra-base hits in the eighth inning. Despite the run scoring, his stuff was dominant as he generated the most swings and misses of the night with five across 22 pitches thrown (22.7% SwStr). While Gilliam had the best “stuff”, Blake Taylor was the best pitcher of the night as he retired all three batters he faced, including two strikeouts, with only seven pitches thrown.

Offensively, it was a poor showing for the Scorpions as they could only rack up four hits on the night and went 1-for-10 with runners in scoring position. The only run of the night came off the bat of Patrick Mazeika in the fourth inning when he hit a ground ball single into right field to drive in Heliot Ramos.
