The St. Lucie Mets have finally updated their 2014 roster, and just in time for Game 1 of the season tonight at Tradition Field.

Ryan Ellis, who returns to St. Lucie to manage his third season, will be joined by pitching coach Phil Regan, who turns 77 on April 6 and hitting coach Joel Fuentes.

St. Lucie (A+) has a good mix of pitchers that actually helped the Savannah Sand Gnats (A) win the 2013 South Atlantic Championship which includes, LHP Steven Matz, who is ranked #12 on the Mets Top Prospect list and the Sterling Organizational Player of the Year and # 16 on the Top Prospect list, RHP Gabriel Ynoa.

On the offensive side, infielder Jayce Boyd, who is #18 on the Top Prospect list, also won  the 2013 Sterling award for Savannah. The Mets 2011 #1 Draft pick and # 7 on the Top Prospect list, OF Brandon Nimmo and 2B Dilson Herrera, who came over from the Pirates in the trade for Marlon Byrd and John Buck, and is also ranked #11 on the Prospect list.

Returning for another season with St Lucie, is T.J. Rivera, which is a bit of a surprise given that he won the 2013 Florida State League Hits Title with 145.

St. Lucie did not make the playoff’s in 2013, actually they came up a bit short at the end, but the 2014 season looks to be a strong one for the organization.
