Noah Syndergaard had another rough outing on Tuesday night allowing five runs, all of them earned, and lasting just 3.2 innings.
The young righty was tagged for 11 hits and has seen his ERA balloon to 5.70 which ranks 46th in the league among all pitchers who have tossed 70 or more innings.
This was the third straight start Syndergaard has allowed five runs and the league is batting .310 against him.
Yesterday, Terry Collins told reporters that there’s a possibility Syndergaard will not pitch for the Mets at any point this season.
When asked why, Collins replied: “Shit happens.”
Last week, a team official told Andy Martino that Syndergaard wasn’t even on their radar when asked when he would be promoted.
Probably for the best, there’s no opening in the Mets rotation right now, and Syndergaard has been struggling anyway. He’s only 21 and there’s no reason to rush the process.
