In the first game of the second round of the playoffs the Aguilas de Mexicali scored two runs in the bottom of the ninth inning to beat the Mayos de Navojoa. The Tigres de Aragua beat the Bravos de Margarita 3-1 last night to move onto the second round of the Venezuelan Winter League playoffs. Wuilmer Becerra was on the bench for the third game in the series as the manager is going with his veterans. He is hitting .294 in the postseason after hitting .405/.416/.500 during the regular season.

T.J. Rivera knocked in the winning run for the Indios de Mayaguez (4-2) in the Top of the 10th inning with a ground out to beat the Cangrejeros de Santurce. Rivera was 0 for 5 on the night dropping his Puerto Rican League playoff average down to .320, he has been playing third base a majority of the time.

The Toros del Este lost last night 6-3 in extra innings to the Estrellas de Oriente with Alejandro De Aza on the bench for the third straight game. Found out from a source during the game that De Aza was pulled from the Dominican Winter League by the Mets and that the Toros have filed a formal complaint against New York with the Caribbean Baseball Confederation, Lidom, and Major League baseball.
