Tim Stauffer becomes the second former Met in as many days to sign with the Arizona Diamondbacks on a minor league deal. Scott Rice signed with the D’Backs yesterday after spending the entire 2015 season with the Las Vegas 51’s and here is the full write up.
Stauffer finished the season on the Mets roster getting into five games down the stretch pitching 5.2 innings with a 7.94 ERA, 1.765 WHIP, and eight strikeouts. He signed with the Mets on August 1st and was sent to the Las Vegas 51’s where he was fantastic going 4-1 with a 2.48 ERA and 1.031 WHIP.
He made eight starts for the 51’s spanning 54.1 innings while allowing only 46 hits, walking ten, and striking out 35. He started the 2015 season with the Twins making 13 big league appearances for them and four more for their AAA Rochester Red Wings.
The 33-year old right-hander was designated for assignment by the Mets on October 12th and elected free agency two days later.

Is what I have ad candidates for the Vegas rotation. Gsellman could be in the mix though I think he starts in Binghamton. A veteran or two on a minor league deal should probably be in the mix.
I think that sounds about right with Jannis and Pill in the mix too. Then Gsellman, Reyes, Lara, and Taylor getting AAA starts at some point too probably.
