Tim Tebow Collects First AFL Hit

Today in Arizona Fall League action, the Scottsdale Scorpions lost to the Mesa Solar Sox by a 6-3 final score. The Scorpions, who are led by Tom Goodwin lost their second in a row against the Solar Sox after a 12-2 loss on Monday.

Yes, Tim Tebow collected his first hit of the AFL. He was 0 for 13 before the fourth inning single. Tebow took a 1-0 pitch clocked at 88 MPH and hit it to left field for a solid single. It was also the first ball that Tebow had hit into the outfield. He is now 1 for 16 with seven strikeouts and two walks in the fall league.

Tebow’s hit came off Cubs prospect Duane Underwood Jr. but he was left stranded at third. Champ Stuart could not bring him home as he struck out with Tebow at third and one out.

Champ Stuart had a tough game leaving four man on base and striking out twice. Stuart is now 3 for 13 with three strikeouts in three games as the Scorpions lead off man.
