Tyler Pill pitched a gem of a game, and also helped out his own cause with an amazing night at the plate.

Pill, who earned the victory and evened up his record to 5-5, tossed eight innings, allowing no runs, on four hits, with no walks and nine strikeouts and lowered his ERA to 4.11.

What made his day an overall success was his 3 for 3 night at the plate, with two runs scored, a double, home run and four RBI’s. Just a triple shy of a cycle, Pill wasn’t even aware about achieving that goal, “I actually didn’t even know I needed a triple,” the left handed batting Pill told Robert Emrich of MiLB.com. “It didn’t really matter. It was a lefty throwing, so I was like, ‘Let’s have the right-handed hitters take care of it’ anyway.”

Pill, who is in his second season with Bingo, lost his first five decisions to start the season, but on May 11, he turned it all around by tossing 5.2 innings, allowing no runs, on four hits with seven strikeouts to earn his first victory on the season and since he is 5-0 (3 ND) in his last eight starts.
