Lets take a look at the roster for the Triple-A affiliate of the New York Mets, the Syracuse Mets under third year manager Dick Scott. They start play on Friday with a three-game series in Worcester.
Catchers
Jakson Reetz – The 29-year-old catcher will offer the organization depth and veteran leadership with some pop. (.254/.368/.432/.799, 5 HR, 34 RBI)
Chris Williams – Williams offers big pop, hitting 38 homers in the last two seasons combined in just under 600 at bats. (.221/.339/.461/.800, 17 HR, 41 RBI)
Infielders
Joey Meneses – In 2023, Meneses looked like an important cog for the Nationals, but after a lackluster 2024 season, he has bounced around and is looking to serve as a depth piece. Had a good showing in the Mexican Winter League. (.231/.291/.302/.593 3 HR, 42 RBI with the Nationals.)
Rowdey Jordan – Jordan provides versatility across the field, having played significant games at second base, third base and in the outfield in the last two years. He struggled repeating in Binghamton last year but offers some speed Syracuse lacks. (.218/.297/.329/.627 9 HR, 53 RBI)
Luke Ritter -Ritter led the Mets minor leagues in home runs for the 2024 season and went unselected in the Rule 5 draft. He may be a Quad-A player at this point and his fit at the MLB level isn’t clear. (.257/.369/.480/.849 26 HR, 93 RBI)
Donovan Walton – Walton has appeared in the major leagues, with 190 at-bats across five seasons. Offers good defensive versatility but not much in terms of power or speed, however he rarely strikes out. (.306/.380/.441/.821 7 HR, 51 RBI)
Luis De Los Santos – Santos was a waiver-wire pickup in the offseason and offers more defensive versatility playing every position in the infield in 2024 in the Blue Jays farm system. (.268/.376/.486/.861 7 HR, 20 RBI)
Diego Castillo – Played for the Twins and Orioles Triple-A affiliates last season and player every infield position and right field. (.261/.364/.397/.761, 9 HR, 54 RBI)
Outfielders
Gilberto Celestino – Plays all three outfield positions and will give Syracuse some versatility in how they’ll deploy Drew Gilbert when healthy. (.275/.349/.361/.709 3 HR, 26 RBI)
Omar De Los Santos – De Los Santos is very fast and has stolen at least 30 bases every season since 2022. Spent the majority of the 2024 season in High-A with the Brooklyn Cyclones. (.192/.277/.348/.625 10 HR, 35 RBI)
Billy McKinney – In his second go-round in the Mets organization, McKinney provides veteran leadership and versatility, playing all three OF positions. Has appeared in the majors every season since 2018 (.290/.412/.441/.853 5 HR, 19 RBI)
Travis Swaggerty – Travis spent most of the 2024 season in playing Indy Ball and offers some speed. (.195/.319/.364/.682, 1 HR, 5 RBI)

Starting Rotation
Brandon Sproat – Sproat is the Mets #1 overall prospect and will look to refine his approach at Triple-A with his expected major league ETA this season. Whether or not he will be the first call-up if a starter is needed is another story. (7-4, 3.40 ERA, 1.10 WHIP, 3.94 FIP, 131 K, 116 1/3 IP)
Dom Hamel – Hamel was left unprotected in the 2025 Rule V draft and was not selected, and will look to rebound after an ugly 2024 season. (5-9, 6.79 ERA, 1.74 WHIP, 5.95 FIP, 124 K, 124 2/3 IP)
Blade Tidwell – Tidwell had a subpar 2024 season that saw his command and control collapse, but looked much better with improved velocity in Spring Training. (3-13, 4.86 ERA, 1.41 WHIP, 5.16 FIP, 121 K, 122 1/3 IP)
Justin Hagenman – Hagenman looks to be a solid depth addition and is a year removed from a successful season in Double-A in the Dodgers system. (4-6, 4.91 ERA, 5.62 FIP, 1.32 WHIP, 98 K, 91 2/3 IP)
Brandon Waddell – Waddell was signed after a successful season in the KBO and seems to have reworked some of his pitches with much better results. (7-4, 3.12 ERA, 1.14 WHIP, 75 K, 75 IP)
Tidwell will get the Opening Day start on Friday, followed by Hagenman and Sproat.

Bullpen
Génesis Cabrera – A Mets non-roster invitee who was competing for a spot in the bullpen, he has great stuff but hit-or miss control. Spent the entire 2024 season with the Toronto Blue Jays in the MLB. (3-3, 3.59 ERA, 1.46 WHIP, 5.13 FIP, 50 K, 62 2/3 IP)
Chris Devenski – A veteran who, as recently as 2021, was a reliable MLB bullpen piece known for pitching multiple innings, Syracuse will see what Devenski still has left. Spent the 2024 season with Seattle & Tampa Bay’s Triple-A affiliates and with the Rays at the MLB level (2-1, 6.75 ERA, 1.57 WHIP, 7.33 FIP, 24 K, 26 2/3 IP)
Rico Garcia – Big velocity, big stuff, lackluster control – all of the high upside traits the Mets look for in relief pitchers. Pitched primarily for Rochester in the Washington Nationals system last season. (6-3, 3.94 ERA, 1.24 WHIP, 89 K, 61 2/3 IP)
Dedniel Núñez – Dedniel will be starting his season with Syracuse as he continues his return from a flexor injury that halted his strong 2024 season in New York. (2-0, 2.31 ERA, 0.91 WHIP, 2.22 FIP, 48 K, 35 IP)
Jordan Geber – Geber has climbed up the system level by level and has been reliable, working as a pitch-to-contact pitcher over his career. ( 5-8, 3.83 ERA, 1.34 WHIP, 4.37 FIP, 66 K, 89 1/3 IP)
Anthony Gose – Gose, the converted outfielder has a strong arm and a solid fastball/slider combination with some success at the MLB level. (5-4, 3.22 ERA, 1.36 WHIP, 59 K, 44 2/3 IP)
Grant Hartwig – Hartwig was released and then re-signed this offseason and has good stuff but needs to solidify his breaking ball to carve out a role in the majors. ( 4-1, 4.68 ERA, 1.46 WHIP, 43 K, 42 1/3 IP)
Kevin Herget – Herget has pitched in the majors without much success, but has performed well in the minors. A solid depth addition for the Syracuse bullpen. (5-1, 2.27 ERA, 0.94 WHIP, 59 K, 47 2/3 IP)
Sean Reid-Foley – SRF, as he is commonly known, has been with the Mets organization since 2021 and has had success but has struggled to stay healthy or consistent. He will look to rebuild his value and could very well appear in some games for New York this season. (1-2, 1.66 ERA, 1.24 WHIP, 2.80 FIP, 25 K, 21 2/3 IP)
Austin Warren – A waiver wire pickup, Warren has a solid pitch mix with good results and a sidearm delivery. (0-0, 1.69 ERA, 1.31 WHIP, 4.48 FIP, 7 K, 10 2/3 IP with San Francisco Giants)
Tyler Zuber – Acquired at the 2024 trade deadline for RHP Paul Gervase, Zuber saw his career revived after a stint in Indy ball. (3-3, 6.69 ERA, 1.72 WHIP, 47 K, 37 2/3 IP)
