Jack Wenninger

Jack Wenninger dominated the Flying Squirrels on Sunday, allowing only one run in five innings while striking out five and lowering his ERA to an impressive 2.70. The 23-year-old has allowed just six earned runs in May and is emerging as a rising prospect in the Mets’ pipeline. Will Watson, was terrific in St. Lucie, going 4.2 innings with 6 strike outs, however, it was not enough to garner the win.

TJ Shook and Ryan Lambert were the standouts from today’s bullpen game. Shook struck out five over three innings pitched. Lambert struck out the side, leading the way to a Carlos Guzman save. Shook allowed one run across May and could be on the verge of a promotion to Syracuse if he keeps this up.

Jesus Baez is riding a five-game hitting streak and has racked up 11 hits during that impressive stretch, showcasing both consistency and confidence at the plate. He’s batting .337 in the month of May, continuing to build on a strong overall campaign. With his bat heating up, Baez is positioning himself as a strong candidate for a Double-A call-up later in the season.
