Who’s Hot:

Brandon Nimmo – St. Lucie.

Brandon has been on a tear since the season started, and he shows no signs of slowing down. From April 23rd-29th, he was near impossible to get out, going 10 for 24 at the plate with 10 walks, nine runs scored, two doubles, one home run, five RBI’s , while batting .417  and an eye-popping .588 OBP. The first round pick is certainly showing why he was the front office was so high on him in the 2011 draft. If you’ve been wondering where to find Nimmo, it’s likely on base.

T.J. Rivera – St. Lucie.

T.J. has become another regular on the list. On the week, he hit only a “disappointing” .360 compared to his teammate Nimmo, but his 9 for 25 for the week once again showed that the kid from the Bronx knows how to swing the stick. He also knocked out two doubles, three RBI’s, and scored three runs.

Aderlin Rodriguez – St. Lucie.

Aderlin makes the hot list this week, and when you knock in 12 runs for the week to go with a .321 batting average (9 for 28) with seven runs scored, a double, two home runs, and a .387 OBP, qualifies as quite a week at the plate. After a slow start, the third baseman from the Dominican Republic has certainly been seeing the ball better lately.

Who’s Not:

Gabriel Ynoa – St. Lucie.

On the Who’s Not list for the second straight week, Gabriel had another rough couple of outings, going 0-2 in two starts against Palm Beach and Charlotte. In 10.2 innings, he allowed 17 hits, 10 earned runs, two home runs, while walking three and striking out seven batters. The stat line translates to an 8.43 ERA and 1.88 WHIP for the week.

Chris Flexen – Savannah.

Chris had a rough time against the Lakewood Blue Claws when Savannah came north to New Jersey. In his outing on April 27th, he took the loss, lasting just three innings in his start, while allowing six runs, four hits (two of which were home runs), and walking four while striking out four.
