Who’s Hot

Brandon Nimmo, St. Lucie  

After spending the 2013 campaign at Savannah, Nimmo moved up one level to St. Lucie.  Through the first five games, the Mets first round pick of the 2011 draft is hitting .316 with six hits, two doubles, six runs scored, six walks, and getting on base at a .480 clip. On Opening Day, Nimmo went 2 for 3 with two doubles and two runs scored.
 
T.J. Rivera, St. Lucie  
The Bronx native is in his third campaign with the St. Lucie Mets after being promoted from Savannah in mid-2012.  Through the first week, the 25 year old second baseman is batting .313 with three runs scored a double, one home run and five RBIs.  On Opening Day, Rivera went 3 for 4 with a double, home run, five RBI’s and two runs scored, followed by a 2 for 4 game on April 4th with a run scored. 
 
John Gant, Savannah  
Born in Savannah, the 21st round pack in the 2011 draft followed up his excellent 2013 campaign in Brooklyn with a solid start in his 2014 debut on April 4th. In six innings, he gave up a run on five hits, a walk, and recorded seven K’s in the Gnats 10-1 victory over the Lakewood Blueclaws.    
 
Jared King, Savannah  
The Mets 5th round pick in the 2013 draft is beginning his 2nd year of professional ball after competing for the Cyclones last year. Through the first five games for the Sand Gnats, he is hitting at a .412 clip with three runs scored, seven hits, five walks, seven RBIs and a .522 OBP.  On April 4th, King lived up to his name when he went 2 for 3 with two triples and four RBI in a victory over the Blueclaws. 
 
Patrick Biondi, Savannah
The 9th round pick in the 2013 draft out of the University of Michigan is off to a fast start, hitting .353 through the first five games with five runs scored, six hits, a home run, three RBI, and a .421 OBP.  On Opening Day, the center fielder went 3 for 4 while driving in all three of the Sand Gnats runs. 
 
Darwin Frias, Savannah
The Dominican pitcher is in his 6th season in the Mets organization since beginning in the Dominican Summer League in 2009 at 17 years old.  After spending most of the 2013 season in Brooklyn, Frias has made three appearances out of the pen for Savannah, recording a win, through 4.1 innings, with seven strikeouts, two games finished, and a 1.15 WHIP.  

Who’s Not

Eudy Pina, St. Lucie
The Dominican outfield prospect is off to a slow start to his 2014 season after spending the entire 2013 season at Savannah. Pina is batting .091 through the first six games of the season, striking out 10 time in his first 18 at bats.
 
Rodriguez has been playing for St. Lucie since being promoted from Savannah midway through the 2012 season.  Now in his third season in St. Lucie and 6th season in the Mets organization, the third baseman out of Santo Domingo, DR is batting just .087 in 23 at bats with two singles and five strikeouts.  
 
Julian Hilario, St. Lucie
In two innings out of the pen, Hilario has allowed nine hits, three walks, and allowed 10 earned runs to go with a WHIP of 6.00 and an ERA of 45.00.  The Dominican reliever has been working his way up the ranks and is in his 5th year with the organization after starting in the Dominican Summer League in 2010. 
 
Michael Fulmer, St. Lucie
Fulmer was the 44th overall pick in the 2011 draft out of Deer Creek High school in Edmond, OK.  He struggled in his first start in which he faced 22 batters, allowing 11 hits and lasted just 3.2 innings, giving up seven earned runs, and a home run while absorbing the loss against the Palm Beach Cardinals.
