Who’s Hot

Matt Reynolds, Binghamton

Reynolds continues to get on base atop the Binghamton lineup at an eye popping pace. In his last 10 games, he’s 15 for 35 with six walks. That’s good enough for a .512 OBP during that span and .436 for the season. He has just eight extra base hits on the season but should provide a valuable utility infielder off the bench one day.

Kevin Plawecki, Binghamton

With a 4 for 5 night on Wednesday, Kevin Plawecki is now batting .410 in his last 10 games with four doubles, four home runs and a whopping 15 RBI’s. He’s also scored nine runs and walked three times with only four strikeouts. Plaw is slashing .335/.368/.524 in a truly breakout season where he’s flashed more power than expected. He’s turning into a very real catching prospect and if Travis d’Arnaud continues to flop, Plawecki will be breathing down his neck very, very soon.

Andrew Brown, Las Vegas

Brown is on a tear right now, going 13 for 38 in his last 10 games with nine extra base hits and nine RBI’s. Among those nine extra base hits are four doubles, a triple and four home runs. He’s walked six times and has only seven strikeouts in that span as well. Andrew Brown is always a candidate for a call up when the Mets need a power bat off the bench.

Who’s Not

Zach Lutz, Las Vegas

Lutz is just 5 for his last 35 without a single extra base hit in his last 10 games. He’s scored just three runs and contributed a single RBI. He’s also has 11 strikeouts and just three walks during that span.

Travis Taijeron, Binghamton

Taijeron is 5 for his last 30 with 12 strikeouts during his last 10 games. He has doubled twice and homered once during this span but has provided virtually no other offense. He’ll need to be more consistent if a promotion is in the cards.

Cesar Puello, Las Vegas

Puello is not receiving a fair opportunity to seize a starting job in Las Vegas and it seems to be hurting his numbers. Puello is 6 for his last 25. He has drawn four walks and struck out three times while scoring six runs in that span but he’s struggling to put together any kind of consistency.
