Mets minor league reliever Chasen Bradford continued his strong winter ball season with a save last night for the Gigantes de Carolina of the Puerto Rican League.

Bradford, 27, pitched a 1-2-3 ninth inning with one strikeout to secure Gigantes’ win that evened the first round playoff series with Cangrejeros de Santurce at 1-1. In game one of the playoff series, Bradford tossed a perfect inning with two strikeouts.

During the regular season for Gigantes, Bradford had a 1.83 ERA and 22 strikeouts in 19.2 innings, but did allow 21 hits in that span.

Bradford pitched the entire 2016 regular season with the Las Vegas 51s. In 65.2 innings, he had a 4.80 ERA, 1.48 WHIP and allowed 84 hits.

The only other Mets minor leaguer in winter ball action last night was the recently signed right-handed reliever Joshua Torres. Pitching for the Indios de Mayaguez, Torres allowed a walk and hit during the eighth inning, but got a double play to end his scoreless inning of relief. Indios won 5-1 and now have a 2-0 lead in the best-of-seven series

During the Puerto Rican winter ball regular season, Torres had a 2.96 ERA and held opponents to a .163 average in 27.1 innings. He had 21 strikeouts and 12 walks during that span.
