What about Randy Fontanez who is pitching in the Puerto Rico League and Hamilton Bennett who is pitching in the Venezuelan League? Are you only tracking the starting pitchers?
Who’s Pedro Perez, is he someone we should keep a watch on this season.
Shemp, I actually left Fontanez out because there wasn’t an update from the last time he pitched, but I will add him to next weeks edition. As for Bennett, I believe he only pitched in one or two games and was going to add him next week as well. But I will make sure to keep them on the list each week. Thanks for following the post and pointing it out.
Greg b, Pedro Perez played with Kingsport last season and also was at the Mets instructional league this fall. He is a 3B/1B, and in 159 at bats last season he batted .264/.314/.365 with 5 doubles and 3 HR. Watching him at instructionals, he does look to have some pop in his bat and has a good glove. I feel if he continues to develop as a hitter he may be a prospect to watch, but can’t say how high his stock will rise at this point. All depends on how he does in spring training and the season. Will keep you posted on him.
Thank you!
What do you make of Puelo’s poor winter and very high strikeout rate? I’ve met him in New Britain and love his attitude – but not sure if last year was a chemically induced fluke?
