Mets outfield prospect Wuilmer Becerra extended his hitting streak to four games last night with a solo homerun for the Tigres de Aragua in the Venezuelan League. He crushed a hanging slider from Jesus Sanchez (Reached AAA in 2014) to dead center which you can watch here. He was 1 for 4 and knocked in another run with a RBI groundout.

The 21-year old is now hitting .361/.365/.475 with two homeruns, nine RBI, and ten runs scored in 61 winter ball at bats. He has played mainly right field but has played a few games in left field where he has played in the minors since 2012. He also made this nice diving catch last night.

The rest of the Mets winter ball action last night:

  • Arnaldo Berrios – 1 for 2 in his first action since December 18th for the Criollos de Caguas in the Puerto Rican League (.261/.414/.304 with three stolen bases in 23 at bats).
  • Johnny Monell – 0 for 3, walk (.265/.390/.425 with 21 walks, 19 strikeouts, and four stolen bases in 113 at bats for Caguas).
  • T.J. Rivera – 1 for 3, walk (.321/.396/.481 with three homeruns, 15 RBI, and ten runs scored in 81 at bats for the Indios de Mayaguez).

Asdrubal Cabrera has signed on to play with the Leones del Caracas in the Venezuelan League and is scheduled to make his debut tonight.

Here are the final regular season stats for the Mets in the Dominican Winter League.
