There has been much excitement for the New York Mets for the 2022 Major League Baseball First Year Player Draft. The organization has five picks among the first 90.
That includes two in the top 15. The first is the 11th pick which is compensation for not signing Kumar Rocker (who is in this year’s draft). The 14th pick is due to the Mets 2021 finish.
In addition to compensation for Noah Syndergaard signing with the Los Angels Angels, the Mets have four picks over the first 75. That also leaves them with $13,955,700 in bonus pool money, the third most of any franchise. This gives the Mets many options on how they can choose to attack the draft.
