Baseball America is doing a series where they go over every Major League teams 2015 draft as they point out the best of the best. Here is what they had to say about the Mets position players that were drafted:

- Best Power Hitter: 4th round pick 3B David Thompson (.218/.268/.320 in 206 at bats)
- Fastest Runner: Lindsay
- Best Defensive Player: 9th round pick OF Kevin Kaczmarski (.355/.415./.512, lead league in AVG)
14 of the 21 Met draft picks that signed were pitchers, here is how BA broke them down:
- Best Fastball: 7th round pick RHP Corey Taylor (1.50 ERA, 1.00 WHIP, .212 AVG in 18 innings)
- Best Secondary Pitch: 3rd round pick LHP Max Wotell (2.53 ERA, 1.03 ERA, .057 AVG in 10.2 IP)
What they thought of the players drafted overall:
- Best Pro Debut: 8th rounder C/1B Patrick Mazeika (.354/.451/.540, led league with 27 doubles)
- Best Athlete: Lindsay
- Most Intriguing Background: 10th round RHP Witt Haggard (21 strikeouts, .174 AVG in 12.1 IP)

I recently did a statistical breakdown of all the Mets 2015 draft picks which you can read here.
Micheal, just curious as to what makes Taylors FB so good?
Fastball in the 92-95 MPH range that has good sink to it. Basically a power sinker.
Good review, but it would help if the article listed the league that the guys are playing in.
Patrick Mazeika and Kevin Kaczmarski both played in Kingsport in the Appalachian League. Pronounced Ap- puh- latch-an … NOT Ap-puh-lay-shun…. The Cherokee had NO sound for the long A…..
