Yesterday, right-handed minor leaguer Josh Prevost had Tommy John surgery on his pitching arm. The 24-year old missed time in June and at the end of the regular season because of an arm injury.

The Mets fifth round pick from 2014 finished this season 4-8 with a 4.30 ERA and 1.52 WHIP in 16 games (15 starts) between the GCL and St. Lucie Mets.

For his minor league career the tall righty has gone 11-14 with a 3.65 ERA and 1.37 WHIP in 182.2 innings with 125 strikeouts and 43 walks.

The news comes almost immediately after learning that another Mets pitching prospect Chris Viall had surgery to reposition the ulnar nerve in his pitching elbow and about 10 days after it was announced that first rounder Anthony Kay underwent TJS.
