Per Mike Mayer of Metsmerized Online, two of the New York Mets’ prospects will be suiting up in the Arizona Fall League Fall Stars Game this Sunday: catcher Kevin Parada and first baseman/ outfielder JT Schwartz will represent the organization.

They both finished their 2023 regular seasons in Double-A with the Binghamton Rumble Ponies, both showing power and ability to make an impact in the field and at the plate for the Mets’ minor league affiliates.

Parada, ranked No. 3 on Mets Minors’ updated Top 30 Prospects list batted .194/.254/.403, with a .657 OPS in the 2023 Arizona Fall League regular season. Parada missed part of the season with an ankle injury, but in the time he was active, he accumulated four doubles, three home runs, nine RBI’s, and seven runs scored.

Though he missed time, he did show flashes of his plus power with seven of his 12 hits being for extra bases, as noted above. He is ranked by MLB.com as the Mets’ No. 5 prospect.

During the 2023 MiLB regular season, Parada hit .248/.324/.428, with a .752 OPS. Between Low-A St. Lucie, High-A Brooklyn, and Double-A Binghamton.

Schwartz, drafted by the Mets with the No. 111 pick in the fourth round of the 2021 MLB draft, batted .246/.299/.433, with a .742 OPS. He collected six doubles, two home runs, with an impressive 12 RBI’s and five runs scored in the fall league.

Schwartz, according to MLB.com “prioritizes hitting balls to the gaps instead of aiming for the moonshots.” In Week three of the fall league regular season, he was 8-for-18, with two home runs, five doubles, and nine RBI’s. He was awarded Player of the week for that week as well.

Schwartz picked up right where he left off in the 2023 MiLB season where he batted .305/.392/.432, with a .824 OPS between the rookie Florida Coast League, Low-A St. Lucie, and Double-A Binghamton.

Sunday’s Arizona Fall League Fall Stars game will take place this Sunday, November 5 at 8:00PM EST. It will be broadcast live on MLB Network and MLB.com.
