It hasn’t been the greatest Arizona Fall League season for MMN‘s third ranked prospect, Kevin Parada (.194/.254/.403 in 16 games). However, he had a strong performance on Wednesday night for the Glendale Desert Dogs in the team’s 11-2 win over the Surprise Saguaros.

In the game, Parada went 2-for-3 with a double, a walk, a hit-by-pitch, two runs scored, and an RBI. That RBI came in the top of the third when his double put Glendale ahead 3-2 after the team fell behind 2-0 in the first inning.

Parada’s other hit came in the seventh when he had a one-out single and he would come around to score on a two-run home run by Bryan Ramos. He would end up drawing a walk in his final at-bat in the ninth (scored on a two-run double by Kala’i Rosario).

Behind the plate, Parada did end up with a good play as well. In the bottom of the first, he threw out Dasan Brown trying to steal to end the inning and limit the Surprise scoring to just the two runs.

The only other Met position player prospect in the lineup was DH JT Schwartz. He went 0-for-5 with three strikeouts out of the number nine spot in the batting order.

In total, the Desert Dogs had 13 hits, and they hit a pair of home runs in the seventh as Ramos and Damon Keith went back-to-back. Both of them hit their third home run of the AFL season.

On the mound, Ben Casparius did not record the official win, but the right-hander had the best pitching performance of the night. He threw three scoreless innings, allowed one hit, walked a batter, and struck out six on 48 pitches (30 strikes).

Glendale will be back in action on Thursday when they take on the Peoria Javelinas at 8:30 p.m ET. You can watch the game on MLB.com.
