Mets Minors Week In Review: Lindsay Interview, WBC Participants

Baseball is officially back and the buzz around the Mets is amazing with record turnouts in Port St. Lucie already. News and notes are going to start coming fast, every Monday we will doing an overview of what has happened in the past week to make sure you don’t miss anything.

Last night we reported on seven new international signings the Mets have made including Dutch infielder Shervyen Newton.

The World Baseball Classic qualifying is coming up next month on March 17-20, right now we know that three Mets minor leaguers will be participating. Dilson Herrera and right-handed pitching prospect Nabil Crismatt will be playing for Team Colombia. Shortstop prospect Luis Guillorme will be playing for Team Spain, he was the 2015 South Atlantic League MVP.

All the Mets minor league coaching staffs have now been revealed, the staff for the rookie level teams were released this week.

Brandon Nimmo is now boot free but could still start the season on the disabled list.

We have now gone through the first 60 players of our Top 80 Prospects! The latest group was numbers 25-21 with Matt Reynolds at the top.

Mets Minors had the opportunity to talk to the Mets first selection in the 2015 draft Desmond Lindsay who grew up watching the Mets with his grandmother.

We gave some info on all of the players in Mets big league camp that are not on the 40-man roster including top prospect Dominic Smith and Gavin Cecchini.

Looking at the Mets top five left-handed pitching prospects which includes three players from the 2015 draft class.
