Mets Minors Weekly Review: Montero Optioned, Carpio Injured

Mets are coming off a 11-0 trouncing of the Marlins yesterday with the Dark Knight pitching four strong innings and Ruben Tejada knocking in three runs. They travel to Lakeland today to take on the Tigers with Seth Lugo getting the start instead of Jacob deGrom who was scratched with back stiffness.

Last week started with some very unfortunate news as Mets infield prospect Luis Carpio is out indefinitely after having surgery on his throwing arm.

We had the chance to talk with one of the newest Mets, pitcher Joseph Zanghi who grew up as a fan of the team giving him his first pro contract.

FanGraphs released their lists of the Mets top prospects with the biggest surprise being outfielder Desmond Lindsay at number two.
