Good to see Gibson at SS, Romero cannot play there. Can’t wait for Rosario move up.
“Fireflies are coming off the biggest offensive explosion in franchise history”
When franchise history is two weeks old, this is not surprising. 😉
Jeff McNeil finally being put on the DL, Evans promoted.
Sounds more exciting though, right?
Not a great night for intriguing arms, Ricky Knapp gave up a run in the first inning.
Because his .143 SLG screams promotion
Luis Guillorme and Kevin Taylor walk in the first inning but Wuilmer Becerra grounds out to end the threat.
Smith RBI double
RBI double by Dom Smith gives B-Mets a 1-0 lead. RBI double by Amed Rosario ties the game at 1 for St.Lucie.
Becerra doubles driven in by a Nido single
Stuart RBI double, drives in Urena and Biondi. 4-1 good guys
Ockimey kid homered off Canelon, legit power 5 already. 2-0 bad guys. Fireflies 1 hit through 4
Fireflies have only one hit through 5 innings as they trail 2-0.
He was in the BA hot sheet today.
David Thompson is unreal, just knocked in two more runs to tie the Fireflies game at 2. Has 18 RBI now.
Pill wild pitch allows a run to score, BMets down 2-1
They convert him yet? lol I am going to say it every start.
Ricky Knapp continues to pitch well despite giving up a bunch of hits.
I know the organization traditionally waits on moving players but him going to first, or maybe LF, can move him along quicker
Rightfully
Reportedly hit one 420 feet prior to the 2014 draft
I have gone back and forth on this after watching him play defense with my own eyes. He is pretty good at third.
He played QB in college so he should have the athleticism. Just the arm, will it hold up. As the players (and play) gets faster as he climbs will it lead to other mistakes as he tries to rush things in order to compensate
Kevin McGowan with two more strikeouts, I would love to see his stuff now that he is in the pen.
Definitely think some 1B is in order, him and Urena could co-exist in St. Lucie if that happened.
35 games have to include Garcia in that mix
Rosario another SB
Hopefully Urena in AA by then.
And starting to walk, the Mets might have been finally right about something!
Lol
Dom Smith with his second hit but gets stranded, B-Mets down 2-1 in the 7th.
Diehl solo HR 3-2 Fireflies
He showed off some good power in Brooklyn last year.
I thought he got 80.
Magliozzi has some good stuff but those mechanics are tough to watch.
of course as soon as I say that he gives up back-to-back hits to tie the game.
Who does he play for?
Pitches for Columbia, they are tied at 3 in the 7th. He is a former Florida Gator.
Yep my mistake
St. Lucie wins 4-1, Knapp gets the win and McGowan the save. Rosario, Becerra, Stuart and Nido with two hits.
Becerra?
Wuilmer!
What did he do tonight?
2 for 4 with a run scored, has a six game hitting streak now. Still DHing because of sore shoulder.
T.J. Rivera remains out of the Vegas lineup after getting hit by a pitch in the leg on Wednesday.
Lineup is pretty interesting with Nimmo hitting 5th.
Fireflies score two in the 9th to take a 5-3 lead.
Dom Smith has three hits now, B-Mets down 4-2 in the 8th inning.
He started slowly at St Lucie last year too.
Maybe he is getting ready to go on a roll.
Their BP is a major question mark it seems…they blew a bunch of leads.
Some live arms but also some guys that have absolutely no idea where it’s going half the time.
Is that a fat joke?
No but it could be.
Although I dont think Smith’s weight will be a problem for him like most.
Fireflies get the win and Bashlor gets the save. No gun readings but he was blowing away the hitters, I would guess 95-96
I don’t think so either, hasn’t been to this point.
He has thick legs and a big bottom…nothing to worry about.
Build like Tony Gwynn was in later years.
B-Mets lose 4-2, their offense has been predictably horrible.
That doesnt bode well for future bats in the system….good thing there are some at PSL…there will be a gap for a year or so.
Bats are in PSL and Vegas. B-Mets need McNeil back very badly.
When is Ahmed Rosario getting moved up?
