Flexen and Tapia could not hold the 5-0 lead they got in the second. Combined they allowed nine runs (4 ER) in six innings. Flexen allowed five walks for the second time in his last ten starts. Tapia is having a tough time after his TJS, pitching to a 1.81 WHIP.

Joe Shaw followed his eight inning performance in his last start, with 6.2 shutout innings. In his last two starts, Shaw allowed just nine hits in 14.2 innings pitched, walking just three and striking out fourteen. Tyler Bashlor keeps running up the strikeouts, in his last two outings he has struck out nine in 3.1 innings. He has 62 strikeouts in 47.1 innings for the season.

Justin Dunn keeps pitching really well in his first pro season. Dunn has allowed just 13 hits in 18 innings pitched, while striking out 19. The six strikeouts are a new career high for Dunn who reached 97 MPH on his fastball.
Injury note: According to our own Jacob Resnick who was at the game, Peter Alonso is expected to miss the remaining of the season due to a broken finger.

It was Santana his worst outing this season. Over the season Santana has allowed just 29 hits in 51 innings, while striking out 72.

That sucks about Alonso, talk about having something to cheer about this season. Peter was just settling into the Brooklyn lineup.
Definitely sucks. I still think he has shown enough to start season at high A next year. Maybe if he heels quickly he gets some ABs in AFL
Dunn has a live arm. I saw him once in the College World Series. He was not real good that game, but coaches run their pitchers down in the College World Series. And of course, metal bats are a whole different story. He might be breaking wooden bats with his stuff.You know. He throws hard, is athletic. I thought the fastball looked a bit straight, and his location was just okay. The arm talent is definitely there. He sounds like a smart guy, too. A lot of pitchers are big dummies.
