Here’s what happen in the Mets minor league system over the last week:

Las Vegas 51s

The 51s went 4-3 in their seven contests this week against the Tucson Padres and Salt Lake Bees. Their 39-36 record has them two games back of the Sacramento River Cats in the PCL Southern division. The Padres are tied with the 51s for second place with a 40-37 record. Las Vegas has seen Carlos Torres, Zack Wheeler, Collin McHugh, Andrew Brown, and Zach Lutz leave for either a promotion or trade, but have welcomed Jacob deGrom to the starting rotation.

Binghamton Mets

The B-Mets went 4-2 this week on the road against Richmond and at home against Erie. They have won nine straight series, are 7-3 in their last ten games, and hold an eight-game lead EAS Eastern division with a 46-28 record. While they’ve said goodbye to Jack Leathersich, Rafael Montero, and deGrom over recent weeks, they’ve welcomed Jim Fuller and top-10 prospect Noah Syndergaard to their squad.

St. Lucie Mets

St. Lucie went 5-2 this weekend, carrying a five-game winning streak into this past weekend before dropping games on both Saturday and Sunday. They’re currently 2-2 in the FSL Southern division second half standings, and are 39-32 overall, winning seven of their last 10 games. They’ve also welcomed Kevin Plawecki, Jayce Boyd, and Bret Mitchell to the squad after they received promotions from Savannah.

Savannah Sand Gnats

The first-half champs had a short week due to the All-Star break taking place from Monday through Wednesday. They won their first game back against Lexington, then dropped the next three in a row before heading out of town. This slow start has put them at the bottom of the SAL Southern division, but they’re 44-29 overall on the season.

Brooklyn Cyclones

The Cyclones got their NYPL schedule started this week, putting together a 3-3 record against Staten Island, Aberdeen, and Hudson Valley. They’re winless on the road in two tries, and are 2.5 games behind the first-place Renegades (6-1) in the NYPL McNamara division.

Kingsport Mets

The K-Mets got their APP schedule underway on Thursday, and had a rough opening at home, getting swept by Johnson City. They got themselves into the win column on Sunday with a 9-0 blowout of Bristol, turning in a 1-3 record this week. Their slow start has them tied for last in the APP West division, three games behind a streaking Johnson City team (4-0).

GCL Mets

The other rookie league team only played two games this week, losing both to the GCL Nationals. This roster is filled with exciting players, including 2013 MLB draft picks Dominic Smith, Ivan Wilson, and Andrew Church. Vicente Lupo and Wuilmer Becerra also headline the current outfield.
