Las Vegas 51s

LV

The 51s had nine games this week thanks to playing two doubleheaders, and went 5-4 on their way to clinching the Pacific Coast League Southern Division championship. It’s the first time the 51s will see playoff action since 2002. They finish up their regular season schedule today against the Tucson Padres, then get a day off before starting the postseason on Wednesday.

Binghamton Mets

The B-Mets are also closing out their regular season schedule today with a day game against the New Hampshire Fisher Cats. They’ve been on cruise control for quite some time, and went 4-2 this week. Allan Dykstra and Pedro Lopez were recently named EAS MVP and Manager of the Year, respectively. The playoffs get underway for Binghamton on Wednesday against the Trenton Thunder, with Noah Syndergaard taking the mound.

St. Lucie Mets

fsl

St. Lucie’s bid to get a second half championship and qualify for the playoffs fell short this week, as they’re one of the few Mets affiliates not heading to the postseason in 2013. They tried their best, putting together a 5-1 week, but it wasn’t meant to be. They finished the season on a high note, though, with a 16-0 hammering of the Hammerheads to close out the year.

Savannah Sand Gnats

sav

The Sand Gnats felt the residual effects of losing Kevin Plawecki and Jayce Boyd from their lineup in the second half. They did go 5-3 this week and enter the final day of the regular season with a 34-34 second half record. Marcos Camarena finishes things off today for Savannah before they start their postseason on Wednesday, as well.

Brooklyn Cyclones

bk

A 3-4 week and their current three-game losing streak has put a damper on the Cyclones’ playoff hopes. They have three games left on the road against the Tri-City Valley Cats, and need to sweep in order to give themselves a shot at getting into the postseason. That has been a tough task this season, as they’re 15-19 in road contests.

Kingsport Mets

kport

The K-Mets officially erased a slow start to the season by winning the APP West division title this week, and finished with the second-best record in the Appalachian League. They began their playoff run last night against Greeneville, and have taken a 1-0 series lead behind strong pitching performances from Chris Flexen and Persio Reyes.

GCL Mets

gcl

The GCL Mets finished their season with the worst record in the Gulf Coast League, and were 30 games behind the first place Nationals. They went 4-6 in their last ten games, and at least finished their year on a high note with a win. Dominic Smith, this year’s first round pick by the Mets, has since been promoted to Kingsport for the K-Mets playoff run.
