It was a mixed week for the Mets minor league system with the two upper level teams both going 1 and 6 while the Columbia Fireflies (10-8) and the St. Lucie Mets (11-7) each had a winning record. Las Vegas (6-10) currently has a six-game losing streak while the Binghamton Mets (6-9) snapped their own six-game losing streak with a victory Sunday.

Saturday night was a big one for Mets shortstop prospect Amed Rosario who knocked in all four the St. Lucie Mets runs with three of them coming on his second homerun of the season.

I had the opportunity to chat with Mets outfield prospect Kevin Kaczmarski who lead the Appalachian League in hitting during his first pro season.

David Thompson continued his clutch season on Friday night when he hit a game-tying two-run double for the Fireflies in a game they would eventually win.

Writer MetsDaddy discussed what he would have done with Matt Bowman and why, rather than exposing him to the Rule 5 draft like the Mets did.

All four of the minor league games on Thursday night were decided in the final inning including a walk-off loss for Vegas and a walk-off win for St. Lucie.

Robert Gsellman made his third straight good start to begin the season on Wednesday when he struck out seven in 6.1 innings.

Writer John Bernhardt took a look at 51s reliever Paul Sewald and how he continues to flourish without a big fastball.

Tuesday night was a rough one for the farm system as they went winless on the night but Rosario did hit his league leading fourth triple.

Writer Thomas Henderson analyzed the now plethora of exciting shortstop prospects that the Mets have in the minors.

Dominic Smith blasted his first Binghamton Mets homer on Monday night in the teams 4-1 loss to Akron.

We did our first edition of the Mets Minors Players of the Week covering April 7-17 with Fireflies pitcher Chase Ingram getting the nod for best starter.
